A TEENAGER arrested in connection with a carjacking in Morrisons car park in Chadderton which left a 79-year-old woman with serious head injuries has been bailed pending further enquiries.
The 17-year-old boy was arrested on Thursday after officers from GMP’s Specialist Operations Branch spotted what they believed to be a stolen car travelling on Park Road in Oldham and signalled for the vehicle to pull over.
The driver did not comply and police gave pursuit.
During the chase the suspected stolen vehicle was involved in a minor collision with a stationary car on Abbey Hills Road. Police say a woman inside suffered minor injuries.
The teenager was detained by police on Halliwell Avenue a short time later on suspicion of robbery and dangerous driving.
