THERE were some sparkling winners in the annual Saddleworth Christmas Illuminations competition.
The event was judged by the chairman of the parish council, Cllr Rob Knotts, vice chairman, Cllr Paul Fryer, and his wife, Aileen, and the clerk to the council, Pam Bailey.
The chairman commented on the number of properties and businesses which had not entered the competition but which had gone to great lengths with their Christmas displays.
He said: “Had everyone entered, we would have had a fantastic competition, although it would probably have taken us a whole week to get round them all and even longer to reach a decision on the winners.”
The prizes will be awarded at a presentation on Wednesday, January 30.
