Oldham, who were denied a late penalty shout for a foul on Jordan Lyden, slipped to their first defeat in seven league games following a hat-trick by Jayden Stockley. The Latics went in front when Tom Hamer crossed to the far post and Sam Surridge headed home from close range, Exeter soon levelled but Oldham struck again just after the restart thanks to a solo effort from Callum Lang.
