DELIGHTED guests attending a charity comedy fundraiser at a county pub, were left speechless by one of the headline acts.

Because the ultra-talented Lost Voice Guy, Lee Ridley, took the spotlight to entertain more than 200 guests at a special “Bangers and Laughs” night at The White Hart, Lydgate.

And Lee helped raise the roof - and cash - at the event organised by dedicated fundraising heroes, Saddleworth Round Table.

Proud club chairman Richard Foster said later: “We have not got a final figure but estimates reckon we’ve made around £2,100 to plough back into local good causes.”

The show was compered by popular host Rob Riley who also introduced comedian Alfie Moore, an ex-policeman.

“ What better way to brighten up a winter evening I guess than by roaring with laughter and raising money for charity whilst doing so, ” Richard declared.

“No one had any idea that Lee was to appear until he actually came on stage.

“It was an fantastic night of comedy. Rob Riley really pulled out all the stops and we were delighted to be joined by non other than winner of Britain’s Got Talent, Lost Voice Guy Lee Ridley.

“I’d like to thank all those who supported this years Bangers and Laughs. It was another sell out, for the third year running, which is absolutely amazing.

“We hope to see everyone again next year. I can’t wait to see who will appear on next years line up.”

Comedian Lee hails from Newcastle and suffers from cerebral palsy and pre-records his routines and plays them via a voice synthesizer on a tablet.

He became a full time stand up comic four years ago and was crowned the winner of Britain’s Got Talent 2018 after wowing fans with his unique routines.

He beat 10 other acts to scoop the top prize of £250,000 and performed at the Royal Variety Performance.
