THE country’s finest ales were on show at the 15th Pendle Beer Festival.

Around 2,5000 people turned out for the festival, on from Thursday to Saturday, to try the more than 120 beers and ciders on offer.

Ale connoisseurs gathered at the Muni in Colne to sample a variety of stouts, ales, ciders and lagers.

The festival featured blues and light rock bands as well as morris dancing and a performance from the Pendle Community Orchestra.

Organised by a group of East Lancashire CAMRA branch volunteers, led by stalwart member Martyn Pashley, the festival raised £6,000 for Pendleside Hospice.

Mr Pashley said: "The festival has been a real success. We've had lot of compliments about the beers and ciders on offer."
