FORMER Manchester United and England midfielder Paul Scholes has been unveiled as the new manager of his home town club Oldham Athletic.
A press conference took place at Boundary Park starting at 2pm.
He was cleared to take charge of League Two Latics following a meeting of the English Football League on Friday.
Scholes, aged 44, has a 10 per cent stake in National League club Salford City along with five “Class of 92” former Manchester United team-mates.
A holding of 10 per cent or less in a club is regarded as irrelevant as long as it is held “purely for investment purposes”.
EFL rules prevent someone holding roles with two clubs at the same time without prior consent.
