We’ve found five catteries worth checking out before you make your final decision over where to send you feline companions for the best care and attention.

Leestock Cattery, 22 Chadderton Fold, Chadderton, Oldham, OL1 2RR

Leestock Cattery is situated in the beautiful countryside in Chadderton Fold. It has been in the ownership of the Freer family for more than 25 years and is currently being looked after by the new owners, Jane and Kevin Elton.

As well as being based at a close location to Manchester, all its cattery houses are insulated and are lined with easy to clean and hygienic surfaces with a safety corridor providing extra protection. It has have single pens for individual cats, double pens for up to two cats and family pens where up to five cats from the same household can share accommodation. All cats are kept singularly unless from same household to prevent cross infection.

Bardsley Fold Farm Cattery, Ashton Rd, Oldham OL8 3HX

A WELL-established cattery, under the ownership of Sherrie Hopwood, offers each and every cat “the ultimate in TLC (including generous amounts of playtime)”.

The owners say the cattery has been built on a reputation of good service and loving care, where customers return year after year with their beloved cats. Newcomers are made very welcome and can experience no less than the same care and attention. It’s located on a family farm, the cattery is manned 24 hrs a day. It is fully licensed by Oldham Council, insured and protected by an up to date alarm system with CCTV.

Petsville Saddleworths Premier Pet Hotel, Woburn Abbey, Uppermill, OL3 6LS

Cuddles Cattery, 26 Warwick Rd, Failsworth, Manchester M35 0QQ

THIS cattery is fully alarmed and has CCTV both inside and out so that we can monitor the cattery at any time of the day or night. It offers a choice of branded wet food.

“We will gladly groom your cats during their stay but you must supply their own brush and comb,” says its website. “We will administer any medication if required.

“Although we cater for all your cats needs you are quite welcome to bring anything from home that you think may help them settle in.

“If you are missing your cat or just want to know if they have settled in with us ok, we are quite happy for you to text or email us and we will happily send you an update with some photos.”

Tanglewood Feline Holiday Apartments claims to be a new concept in petcare.

It is a hotel with a difference. Cats have their own rooms, furnished to a standard that will be more than acceptable to your discerning cat. It has 16 exclusive rooms so your cat will get lots of extra-special care and attention. It also has an extensive menu to choose from, but any diet can be provided and a range of cat litter is also available.

Cats can be groomed, watch videos, have interactive play sessions or simply relax on their climbing frame, watching the world go by.

They can also look after your small furries such as rabbits, hamsters and guinea pigs.
