TODAY'S delve into the Lancashire Telegraph archives takes a look back to the 19th century.
The image shows Fish Lane in Blackburn in 1854, the line of which is now roughly covered by Cardwell Place.
The house was the birthplace in 1750 of the first Sir Robert Peel, who became a wealthy cotton manufacturer and was father of the English statesman who founded the police service.
He quit Blackburn for Staffordshire - later moving to Bury where his son, the future prime minister, was born - after rioting spinners, fearing the loss of their livelihoods to the new spinning jenny machines, attacked his factory premises in 1779.
