A MAN is in a critical condition in hospital after a two-vehicle crash in Royton.

The man, a 76-year-old, suffered life-threatening injuries after his white Mazda 3 collided with a grey Range Rover.

Police were called to the incident in Broadway at the junction with Hilbre Avenue, shortly after 11.30am yesterday.

The driver of the Mazda was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward to assist with the ongoing investigation.

They have also asked for anyone with dashcam footage of the crash to contact them.

Police Constable Neil Pennington, of Greater Manchester Police’s Specialist Operations Roads Policing team, said: “A man remains in hospital having suffered life-threatening injuries, and my thoughts are with him and his family at this time.

“Our enquiries into this collision remain ongoing, and I would urge anyone who witnessed what happened to get in touch with us.

“We’re particularly keen to hear from anyone who has dashcam footage of the events leading up to the collision.”
