Jazz on a Sunday

THE gloriously-named Frog and Henry band – currently on a European tour – entertain at this club for lovers of live jazz. The band formed in New Orleans will make its first visit to Jazz on a Sunday, featuring a foot-controlled tuba, double bass, reed players (sax and clarinet), and a violinist. Entry is £8 and doors open at 7.45pm.

Illuminate Festival

Friday, February 22, 6pm to 9pm

Oldham Coliseum, A Skull in Connemara

Friday, February 22 (runs until Saturday, March 9). 7.30pm

BAFTA and Academy Award-winning Martin McDonagh’s black comedy A Skull In Connemara draws you into the unfolding mysteries of an Irish village.

Mick is a gravedigger whose wife died under mysterious circumstances some seven years ago. Rumour has it, it was murder. When the time comes to exhume bodies from the Connemara graveyard he finds her bones are missing.

Martin McDonagh is best known for feature films: In Bruges, Seven Psychopaths and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (winner of three BAFTA Awards and two Golden Globe Awards).

A Skull in Connemara is the second of his Leenane Trilogy of plays following on from The Beauty Queen of Leenane, which had a hit run here at the Coliseum in 2009 with London Classic Theatre.

'The LEGO Movie 2' reunites the heroes of Bricksburg in an all new action-packed adventure to save their beloved city. The battle to defeat them and restore harmony to the LEGO universe will take Emmet, Lucy, Batman and their friends to faraway, unexplored worlds, including a strange galaxy where everything is a musical. It will test their courage, creativity and Master Building skills, and reveal just how special they really are.
