THE team at Dr Kershaw’s Hospice were blown away by HighStreet Hair who raised £795 for patient care.

Offering hair treatments, blow dries and pamper packages to all who came along, the salon based in Lees organised a wellbeing day to raise funds for the Royton based hospice.

Led by owner, Megan Buckley, the team at HighStreet Hair as well as her family, colleagues and friends, pulled together to make the fundraiser a special and successful day.

And it’s not long until another special day as Megan is due to get married in April and is organising her own huge wedding in a barn/field.

It’s a big undertaking so adding a well-being event was crazy but she’s a determined lady.

Megan said: “With just 10 weeks to go to the wedding it has been quite stressful juggling everything but I’m very excited to be a married women”

“It’s a cause so close to home, a lot of our clients have had family pass away at Kershaw’s. Everyone who enters our salon is a friend and our fundraiser was a nice reminder that there are such lovely people out there.”

They also had a spectacular raffle which local businesses, clients and friends donated to. The star prize was a diamond solitaire necklace which was won by one of Megan’s team.

Due to the success of the event, Megan has pledged to make it an annual affair, saying: “We hope to do something every year at the end of January for Kershaw’s, whether that’s a coffee morning or a well-being day.”

Special thanks to Asda, Shaw, who donated food for the event.
