AT a care home in Horwich the residents have some feathered friends.
Residents at Hazelbrook Christian Nursing Home enjoy the company of a brace of ducklings.
The cute ducklings are a form of pet therapy at the home and the residents enjoy watching the ducklings grow.
Manager Alison Harvey said: "It was surprising how many of the residents had chickens and ducks in their back gardens.
"Our generation think of duck ponds and farms but a lot of them had a coop in their back garden."
This is the second year the home has raised ducklings on the premises. Mrs Harvey says it also encourages people to bring their grandchildren in on visits.
