A QUIET country lane ended up becoming a 'rat run' for motorists.
When this picture was taken, Knowsley Road in Wilpshire, was a peaceful country lane passing beneath the Blackburn-Hellifield Line.
It led to the area known locally as Wilpshire Bottoms.
Now it is an access-only road to prevent it being used by motorists as a 'rat run' to avoid traffic lights at the Whalley New Road-Ribchester Road junction.
In 2013, residents living on the road called for its speed to be limited to 20mph to address the problem.
And following a long-running campaign, they were successful in their bid in 2014.
Perhaps you have a tale to tell about Knowsley Road. If so we’d love to hear from you.
