VOLUNTEERS are being encouraged to take part in the 13th annual hospice to hospice walk organised by Dr Kershaw's for Sunday, April 28.

The 7.25-mile circular route takes in both Dr Kershaw's facilities - one at Turf Lane, Royton and the other at Springhill in Rochdale.

This year, there is a slight detour as the walk starts from Heyside Cricket Club to avoid the builders who are on site constructing a new car park prior to the new build at the Oldham hospice.

The rest of the route will stay the same with a halfway stop at Springhill and sandwiches and drinks back at the start.

Normally, hundreds of sponsored participants – many walk year-on-year in memory of a loved one while others do it to get fit … or for fun!

Some even get dressed up for the occasion.

Dr Kershaw's had more than 500 walkers on the route last year. Participants are welcome to include there dogs on the walk. This year we have a special doggie pack for just £5 which includes drawstring bag, canine water bottle, poop bag dispenser with bags and their very own sponsor form! If you would like a doggie pack on the day register your dog alongside yourself.

Pre-registration costs £7 per person (that increases to £10 when registering on the day between 9.15 and 10.15am).
