HEARTLESS vandals broke into a shed at a primary school before ruining children's toys.

Lower Darwen Primary School on Milking Lane has been targeted twice on Sunday and Monday night.

Last night, vandals broke into a shed at the primary school before throwing paint all over the children's toys and car park.

Police are investigating the incident and said there is a good chance the offenders will have paint on their clothes.

Officers are now urging parent to check their children's clothes for paint and 'do the right thing' by contacting police.

A police spokesman said: "For the past two nights Lower Darwen County Primary School on Milking Lane has been targeted by vandals.

"Last night they broke into a shed before throwing paint all over the children's toys and car park. There is a good chance the offenders will have paint on their clothes and we would ask any parent who finds paint on their child's clothes to do the right thing and contact us on 101 quoting log reference LC-20190416-0240 so they can be dealt with accordingly.

"We would also ask residents in the area to be vigilant and if they see anyone on school premises to call us on 101."
