BOOKMARK Festival returns to Oldham Libraries for its seventh year on Tuesday with lots of fun-filled, book-related events and activities for all ages to enjoy.

It runs until Sunday in libraries across the borough.

Lots of successful and award winning authors are coming to Oldham this year, aiming to inspire people to follow in their literary footsteps.

Crime buffs can look forward to Vaseem Khan, author of the Baby Ganesh Detective Agency novels, making an appearance.

Vaseem’s genre of choice is crime fiction so he will be informing budding writers of the key ingredients of best-selling crime novels, while multi-award-winning poet, Char March, will also be on hand to help any up and coming poets to find their voice.

Events will also take place to celebrate the release of Jacqueline Ward’s psychological thriller Perfect Ten, and the 20th anniversary of Tracy Chevalier’s novel, Girl with a Pearl Earring will be acknowledged with a special film screening.

As well as all these offerings, Hyde Fundraisers return to Oldham Library on Saturday, April 27 for a full on day of science fiction fun.
