SADDLEWORTH Male Voice Choir is to present its annual Concert for St George at the Civic Hall, Uppermill on Saturday, April 27.

It will be conducted by its musical director Dorian Kelly and will perform a variety of pieces from its male voice repertoire.

The finale gives the audience the opportunity to join in a flag waving sing-along to such favourites as "There'll Always be an England" and "Land of Hope and Glory".

Special guests are the ever popular Oldham Tinkers with their own brand of self-written northern folk music.

Tickets for the concert are available at £12 from Saddleworth Museum, Uppermill Post Office or David Davies by calling 01457 873182.

SMVC continually seeks to increase its membership and anyone with a reasonable voice is invited to attend our weekly rehearsals on Wednesday between 7.30pm to 9.30pm at the Old School on the corner of Station Road and Lee Street in Uppermill, or contact Maurice Stanley (recruitment officer) on 0161 330 8831.
