INDEPENDENT parcel carrier Yodel donated more than 300 Easter eggs to the children’s ward at the Royal Oldham Hospital for the Easter weekend.

Drivers, sorters and office colleagues from the sort and transport centre on Beal Lane in Shaw had collected a variety of chocolate eggs since the start of April.

Val Kilburn, shift manager at Yodel, said: “It has been wonderful to see all the colleagues at Shaw getting involved in our appeal and the response has been amazing. Gathering all the chocolate eggs was a team effort and a great way to give children at the Royal Oldham Hospital a little Easter surprise.”

Royal Oldham Hospital’s children’s ward was selected by Yodel colleagues as the nominated charity for the sortation and transport centre. The ward offers a variety of services for children, young people and their families, across the area.

Drivers collect thousands of parcels from Yodel’s retail clients around the country and bring them back to Shaw for sorting. They are then sent out to Yodel’s nationwide network of depots for onward delivery to customers across the UK.
