A CALL has gone out for people to participate in a sponsored dog walk in aid of the Better Days cancer charity and the Pennine Pen Animal Rescue Centre.
Staff at dog groomer Indiana Jones and the Temple of Groom have sent out the appeal as their friend Suzanne Burke fights cancer.
They have joined forces with Wayne and Laura Coyle from Tropical Palms hair salon in Droylesden, who are raising cash to pay for wigs for cancer patients.
Cheryl Brooks, from Indian Bones, explained: "We also want to help out at Better Days, but we also want to help out our local dog rescue centre (Pennine Pen).
And she is asking as many people as possible to participate in the five-mile walk on Sunday, June 9 from the Indiana Bones' shop at 47 Ripponden Road, Oldham to Ashton town centre. Proceeds will be split equally between the two charities.
Cheryl added: "We would like all our wonderful customers and family friends to get involved and raise as much money as we can for these very worthy causes. Downloadable sponsor sheets are available by email, or if you’re local to either salon you can call in for a printed sheet."
