FOUR men will appear in court today after dawn raids in Oldham last week.

Police officers executed a number of warrants on Thursday, May 16 as part of Operation Hansford which is cracking down on an organised crime group.

The group is believed to be behind 120 offences including aggravated burglary, robbery, car theft, assault, violent disorder and criminal damage.

Gareth Robinson, 29, formerly of Border Mill Fold, Mossley, has been charged with conspiracy to commit burglary, conspiracy to commit robbery, conspiracy to steal motor vehicles, conspiracy to receive stolen goods, handling of stolen goods and theft of a motor vehicle.

Three other men, Matthew Bowers, 30, formerly of Carnation Road, Oldham; Ryan Stewart, 35, formerly of Brooklands Street, Royton and Peter Clarke, 32, formerly of Elm Road, Limeside, have all been charged with conspiracy to commit burglary, conspiracy to steal motor vehicles and conspiracy to commit robbery.

They have all been remanded in custody to appear at Tameside Magistrates’ Court later today.

A 21-year-old woman who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender has been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
