POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man was taken to hospital with serious injuries in Oldham.

Shortly before 1am this morning (Wednesday, June 5) police were called by the ambulance service to Moorhey Street to reports of a man with serious injuries.

Emergency services attended and the man in his 40s was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

Enquiries are ongoing.

Detective Sergeant Julie Howell, of GMP’s Oldham District, said: “We have launched an investigation to establish the full circumstances of this incident and determine what caused the man’s injuries.

“If you were in the area at the time and saw anything that could assist our investigation then please get in touch with police as soon as you can.

“If you have any information, no matter how small or insignificant it might seem, then we want to hear from you.”
