Woman of Oldham charity for 2019 is Inspire Women,a local non-profit organisation doing a great job of encouraging women too have a voice and co-produce services that overcome loneliness, isolation and lack of confidence.

JUNE 11: Friezland Church Hall, Greenfield, Saddleworth Floral Art Society is holding a floral demonstration by Catherine Baines of Penwortham, near Preston, entitled “Summer is Here”. All are welcome. Visitors £6, including refreshments. JUNE 12: Trinity Methodist Church, Radcliffe Street, Royton, 7.30pm, flower arranging demonstration by Mrs Kathleen Williams. £3 including refreshments.
JUNE 15: St James’ Church, Barry Street, Oldham, summer fair, 12noon to 3pm. Brass band Westwood Community Band will entertain and there will be a cafe and “lovely lunches” as well as stalls and games. Adults 50p, children free.
JUNE 15: Saddleworth Historical Society, Saddleworth Museum, High Street, Uppermill, 2pm, Bernard Barnes Memorial Lecture - an illustrated presentation by Prof Robert Poole entitled “Peterloo - the View from Saddleworth”. Members admitted free, non members £3. Refreshments available.
