FURNITURE components manufacturer Hill’s Panel Products (HPP) is supporting the Mahdlo Youth Zone by joining a sponsored hike across the Pennine hills of Saddleworth.

An intrepid team from HPP is taking part in the Three Peaks of Saddleworth Challenge July on 6 and encouraging others to support its fundraising activities or join the challenge themselves.

Marketing manager Dan Mounsey, who is part of the staff team, said: “We will be climbing local landmarks such as Pots and Pans, Indian’s Head and Wharmton Hill. The route is challenging but rewarded by some incredible views of the town of Oldham, the hills, valleys and villages of Saddleworth."

The team comprises of Matt Barker, Henley Bailey and Mark Staines, all from HPP's marketing department; Stuart Hyde and Matt Barber, from its purchasing department; and Shaun Nolan, the national contracts manager.

Dan added: “We hope our trade customers, contacts, colleagues, friends and families will support our fundraising work with donations.

“Over the years, HPP has supported Mahdlo from its foundation in many ways. We’ve supported it financially, as a corporate sponsor proudly based in the borough of Oldham, and we’ve offered other types of support too, such as hosting educational activities and experiences for youngsters at our HQ on Scottfield Road, near Ashton Road.

“Recently, we attended Mahdlo’s annual Star Awards to celebrate the achievements of young people from many different walks of life. It was a great event and we are proud to support Mahdlo’s fantastic work.”

Donations can be made to the HPP team’s fundraising efforts through this Virgin Money Giving link: https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/TeamHPP

HPP is encouraging other business teams to take part in the Saddleworth challenge too. Registration with Mahdlo is £20 per walker, which includes a commemorative T-shirt, picnic and refreshments along the route, and post-walk barbecue at the Royal George pub. Teams will also receive support for their fundraising efforts from Mahdlo.
