THE following cases have been dealt with by Tameside Magistrates’ Court.

TWO men have been committed to Minshull Street Manchester Crown Court for sentence after being found guilty of assault on the same man occasioning actual bodily harm at Oldham on May 19. They are Anthony MacDonald, aged 37, of Hope Street, Shaw, and Georgie Nicholas Terry, aged 21, of Dunwood Park Court, Shaw.

JAHID Ahmed, aged 18, of Schofield Street, Oldham, behaved in a manner where a breach of the peace may be caused. He was bound over in the sum of £50 for six months.

NIGEL Kidd, aged 54, of Shield Close, Oldham, was guilty of possession of cocaine and heroin on October 25, 2017, and on May 9, 2019, he failed to surrender to custody at Tameside Magistrates Court. He was ordered to pay £85 costs and to forfeit the drugs and has already spent time in custody.

BERNARD Ward, aged 45, of Raper Street, Oldham, stole a computer, printer, shredder and antibiotic tablets at a burglary at Jackson’s Dental Surgery in Huddersfield Road, Oldham, between October 22 and 26, 2018. On January 10, 2019 he broke into the JLR Bar in Market Street, Royton and stole a laptop computer, tools and bank cards. He was jailed for 36 weeks and ordered to pay a total of £1,500 compensation.

JAMES Cooke, aged 38, of Nursery Road, Failsworth, was guilty of harassing a woman at Oldham on April 30 by sending numerous text messages and contacted her when prohibited from doing so by a non-molestation order. Cooke was ordered to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months and ordered to pay £85 costs and £85 into victim services. He was also given a restraining order prohibiting him from entering an address in Failsworth or contacting his victim, directly or indirectly, except through a solicitor in the family courts to arrange child contact.

CALVIN James Boyle, aged 34, of Coalshaw Green Road, Oldham, failed to comply with a community order made by Tameside Magistrates Court on March 18 by missing unpaid work on March 30 and failed to attend an appointment on April 24. He was fined £50 and ordered to pay £85 costs.

SHANE Burke, aged 24, of Lilac Lane, Oldham, failed to produce a rail ticket proving he had paid his fare. He was fined £40 and ordered to pay £150 costs, £30 into victim services and £2.30 compensation.

IONUT Durancea, aged 23, of Honeywell Lane, Oldham failed to comply with a community order made by Blackburn Magistrates’ Court on October 10, 2018 by missing unpaid work on March 30 and April 13. A warrant was issued for his arrest.

KONNOR Harvey, aged 19, of Meadowcroft Close, Derker, failed to comply with a community order made by Tameside Magistrates’ Court on February 14 by missing unpaid work on April 14 and 29. He must now carry out an additional 20 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months and pay £60 costs.

JAMIE Liam Jones, aged 30, of Summervale House, Oldham, failed to comply with the requirements of a community order made by Tameside Magistrates’ Court on November 22 by missing appointments on March 22 and April 17. A warrant was issued for his arrest.

KELLY Leigh McLeod, aged, 30, of Buckfast Avenue, Oldham, failed to comply with a community order made by Tameside Magistrates Court on November 19, 2018 by missing appointments on March 5 and April 23. A warrant was issued for her arrest.

CARLIN Michael O'Leary, aged 25, of Lower Lime Road, Oldham, has had a community order made by Chester Magistrates’ Court on December 21, 2018 revoked on health grounds and has been dealt with for his original offence of theft of fragrances from Boots, Chester worth £467 with a £200 fine.

JASON Francis WARD, aged 23, of Hague House, Eldon Street Estate, Oldham, failed to comply with a suspended sentence order made by Tameside Magistrates’ Court on January 18 by failing to report for planned appointments (unpaid work) with his responsible officer. His suspended sentence imposed for driving while disqualified has been varied. The suspended sentence order is now for 12 weeks, suspended for 12 weeks. He must now carry out 20 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months and pay £60 costs.

An application by Greater Manchester Police for the continued detention of seized cash, namely £3,000 from Elliot wood, of Cooperation Street, Failsworth, under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 has been granted.

SHEIK Mohammed Ali Omor, aged 25, of Camberwell Street, Coppice, Oldham, pleaded guilty to breaching a restraining order imposed by Manchester Magistrates’ Court on September 9, 2017, by visiting an address in Landseer Street, Oldham. He was given a six-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £85 costs and £20 into victim services.

EWAN Jack Gaylard, aged 20, of Sharples Hall Street, Oldham, had in his possession a quantity of cannabis on September 20, 2018. He was ordered to forfeit the drug, which will be destroyed.

LUKE Annerville, aged 28, of Teasdale Close, Chadderton, had in his possession a quantity of cocaine and has been fined £100 and ordered to pay £30 into victim servces.

MICHAEL James Collins, aged 42, Mortimer Street, Oldham, was guilty of driving while disqualified, and with no insurance. He was placed under curfew with electronic monitoring until September 4, 2019, during which time he must remain at home daily from 7pm and 7am. He was also ordered to pay £85 costs and £85 into victim services.

JOSEPH Patrick Dervan, aged 31, of Wimpenny House, Elden Street, Oldham, interfered with a car, and on May 30 stole £290 cash and on May 14 a wallet and contents worth £107. On April 12 he dishonestly received stolen goods, namely a bank card and on June 7 stole cash and a band card worth £332. He was given an eight-week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months.

CADEN Norton, aged 19, of Derker Street, Oldham, behavied in a manner whereby a breach of the peace had been committed. He was bound over in the sum of £100 for 12 months to keep the peace.

RICHARD Keaveny, aged 29, of Greenhill Avenue, Shaw, was drunk in charge of a vehicle in Carlton Way, Royton on May 12. He was fined £350 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £30 into victim services. He was band from driving for six months.

STEPHEN John Newton, aged 27, of Assheton Road, Shaw, was found in possession of 3 snap bags of cocaine on November 4, 2018. He was fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £30 into victim services.

MARK Thomas Regan, aged 27, of Middleton Road, Chadderton, produced a quantity of cannabis. He was ordered to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months. Regan must also pay £85 costs and £85 into victim services.

AKHTAR Miah, aged 46, of Chief Street, Oldhamm, drove on Waterloo Street, Oldham on December 7, 2018 with no licence or insurance. Miah also failed to stop after an accident which caused an injury to a person and drove without due care and attention. He was fined a total of £250 and ordered to pay £200 costs and £30 into victim services.

RAYMOND Fairhurst, aged 69, of Wildmoor Avenue, Holt, failed to comply with notification requirements under the Sexual Offences Act 2003. He was given an 18-week jail sentence, suspended for 18 months. He must also pay £85 costs and £115 to victim services.

ADAM Stephen Miller, aged 33, of Whiteley Street, Chadderton, breached a restraining order by entering a road in Chadderton when prohibited from doing so by a restraining order on September 12 and 15. He was jailed for 16 weeks and ordered to pay £115 to victim services.

VASILE Paun, aged 37, of Villa Road, Oldham, was guilty of drink driving in Fairfield Street, Manchester on September 3, 2018, failed to provide a specimen of breath at Ashton and drove without no licence or insurance on June 16, 2019 and failed to surrender to custody at Manchester and Salford Magistrates’ Court on September 27, 2018. He was ordered to carry out 80 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months and to pay £85 into victim services and £85 costs.

THOMAS Martin Harrison, aged 32, of Oldham Road, Failsworth, stole a Sony phone worth £500 on September 19, 2017, and damaged a window worth £150 on May 16, 2019. He was a community order including a curfew with electronic monitoring until September 9, and until then he must be at 391 Oldham Road, Failsworth between 9pm and 7am daily. He was also ordered to pay £150 compensation.

JAMIE Lee Sharrocks, aged 31, of Age Croft, Oldham, drove while disqualified and with no insurance on Alt Hill Lane, Oldham on January 17 and allowed himself to be carried in a vehicle he knew to have been taken unlawfully. He was also found in possession of cannabis on that date. Sharrocks also took a vehicle on January 13. A warrant was issued for his arrest.
