Saturday, Orienteering at Chadderton Hall Park, Chadderton Park Road, Chadderton, 11.30am to 3pm

Organised by South East Lancs Orienteering Club, these local Saturday afternoon events are ideal for newcomers to the sport, as well as offering a technical course for more established orienteers.

Certificates will be available for all juniors and if you attend more than one of the series there will be prizes to collect. Parking The address is Burnley Lane, Chadderton, OL9 0QB. Starts from noon to 2pm. Entry Fee is £4 for adults, £2 juniors, SI card hire is free (though there is a charge for lost cards).

Saturday, Oldham Carnival Community Festival - Oldham Town Centre, Parliament Square, Oldham, 10am to 4pm

Lots of stalls, performers including bands and dance troupes and free activities such as Punch and Judy, Circus Whiz, games arena, surf simulator, rodeo bull and Bugs Biz. Lots of fun for all the family.

You can park for free for up to three hours on all council owned town centre car parks every Saturday and Sunday. To qualify for this offer you must take a ticket from the pay and display machine for the length of time you are intending to stay.

Sunday, Saddleworth Summer Show 2019, Well-I-Hole Farm, Well-I-Hole Road, Greenfield

Saddleworth Show is organised jointly by the Rotary Clubs of Saddleworth and Oldham Metro.

It's a fabulous fun fill day of vintage and classic cars, inflatables, fun dog show, Circus Sensible, bungee trampolines, duck races, pony rides, and loads of crafts and stalls.

A fantastic music showcase will run all day celebrating a wide range of tastes from Rock Choir and Brazilian drummers to ukulele groups all performing from the main stage.

And in the Arena, an amazing comedy trampolining act “The Crazy Tramps,” will entertain alongside Giant Elephant Puppets, Brazilian drummers and a fun dog show (please bring your dog along to the show to enter).

Sunday, Learn to Ride (Chadderton Hall Park Oldham)

If it’s been a while since you’ve ridden a bike, or maybe you’ve never had the chance to try, Learn to Ride is the course for you. Learn to Ride courses are led by qualified instructors who look to teach the very basics of cycling, offering support and guidance at your pace.

The course takes place in a safe, off-road environment and lasts around two hours, giving you plenty of time to hone your skills… if not, you can always come back as many times as it takes!

The courses are only open to those 12 years and above.
