SEEING as it's the hottest day of the year, what better way to enjoy the sunshine after work than head to a beer garden.
Bolton is blessed with a number of bars and restaurants that offer outdoor eating and drinking, so why not make the most of them while you can?
1. Old Three Crowns, Deansgate, Bolton
The beer garden at the rear of the Old Three Crowns has several ta-bles where you can sit and enjoy a drink and some tasty pub grub.
2. Hogarths, Churchgate, Bolton
Hogarths gin and sports bar is home to a pretty and picturesque beer garden at the back, decked out with mirrors and greenery. There are also seats and tables at the front which are bathed in sunlight throughout the day.
3. Ye Olde Man and Scythe, Churchgate, Bolton
One of the country's oldest public houses is home to a small but cute beer garden which catches the sun throughout the day. Why not pop down and enjoy a drop of cider?
4. Barristers, Bradshawgate, Bolton
Barristers boasts a heated courtyard but who needs heaters in this weather? Dating back to 1845, check out one of Bolton's most historic watering holes.
5. Yates's, Bradshawgate, Bolton
One of Bolton town centre's largest beer gardens, head up the stairs to access the outdoor space. There are 10 round tables, perfect for cramming your mates round and getting the cocktails in.
6. The Alma Inn, Bradshawgate, Bolton
The Alma's beer garden is bright in more than ways than one. The walls are adorned with eye-catching graffiti and the south-facing beer garden is a sun-trap. Perfect for lazy summers days in the sun.
7. The York, Newport, Street Bolton
Just across from Bolton Railway Station, The York has several tables and chairs at the back for liquid refreshment before you get on your train.
8. The Hen & Chickens, Deansgate, Bolton
More of a yard than a beer garden, it'll host a couple of you if you get in there first but it's a tad on the shaded side.
9. Courthouse Restaurant and Bar, Mawdsley Street, Bolton
Perfect for a lunchtime beverage and bite to eat, the Courthouse has tables and chairs outside the front on warm and sunny days.
10. The Retreat, Chorley New Road, Bolton
This grill, bar and restaurant offers alfresco dining and is always a popular spot when the sun’s out, that’s why it’s always best to book.
