JULY 4-12: St Chad's (Saddleworth) Church, Kiln Green Art Group presents an exhibition of art and craft, 10am-4pm (Sunday, July 7, 1pm-4pm). Musical performances and children's activities. all proceeds to the church building fund. Free admission and refreshments available.

JULY 6: St Gabriel's School, Tongue Rough, Chadderton, summer fair, 11am to 3pm. Beer tent, and stalls include tombola, craft, home bake, teddies, plans, bric-a-brac, and there's a Harry Potter Challenge. Refreshments and plenty more

JULY 6: Uppermill Civic Centre, 7.30pm Saddleworth Singers, led by musical director Hilary Henderson and accompaniment by Rachael Gibbon, with guest musicians Phoenix Brass, present a summer concert singing a selection of songs including Sister Act "Hail Holy Queen", "Fields of Gold", "Ain't No Mountain High Enough", anmd a "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" medley. Tickets £10, children free, available from Uppermill Post Office or limited availability on the door.

JULY 6: Weavers Factory, New Street, Uppermill, 10am to 4pm,Yorkshire potter Pat Kaye hosting her first exhibition "Gallus Domesticus" showing her hand crafted ceramic hens, pigs, sheep and cows, plus cups, bowls, plates, sculptures. Open Thursday to Sundays until July 28.

JULY 9: Friezland Church Hall, Greenfield, 7.30pm, Saddleworth Floral Art Society holding a floral demonstration by Karen Schofield of Preston. Her title is "Garden Party". All welcome. Visitors £6 including refreshments.

JULY 10: Saddleworth Museum, High Street, Uppermill, Saddleworth Historical Society hosts an illustrated presentation by O H Boyd entitled "John Harrison's Chronometer and Captain James Cook: Their Joint Contribution to Our Society". All welcome, society members admitted free but a there is a charge of £3 for non members. Refreshments will be available.

JULY 13: Oldham Parish Church, coffee morning, 9.30am to 1pm.Various stalls including brac a bric and book stall. Light snacks served. Tours of the crypt on the half hour. Everyone welcome.

JULY 14: St Paul's Church, Church Street, Royton, Oldham Symphony Orchestra's next concert "A Night at The Vienna Opera", 7.30pm. Joint venture with The Oldham Choir. Programme features Oldham-born opera singer Nicola Mills and includes a selection of arias, choruses and overtures. Tickets are £12 full, £8 concessions and £3 under 16s, payable on the door. Raffle and light refreshments will be available.

JULY 17: Springhead Liberal Club, "Lunch at the Libs", noon to 2pm, £3.75, for choice of hot food, cakes, tea or coffe, raffle and stand-up bingo, in aid of Dr Kershaw's and Oldham branch of the MS Society.

JULY 20: Women of Oldham "Strawberry Sparkle" event at The Pavilion in Station Road, Grotton from 2pm to 4pm. The event includes a talk by Anne Ashton on "medical, magic and mystery". Tickets cost £8 available from Janet Larton on 0161 652 8878 with money raised going to the charity Inspire Women.

JULY 23: Springhead Liberal Club, "Its not Rocket Science" General Knowledge Quiz, 8.30pm,£3 per person including raffle and stand-up bingo. On behalf of Dr Kershaw's and Oldham branch of the MS Society.

JULY27: The Old Bell Inn Annual Gin Fair, Huddersfield road, Delph, 12noon to 5pm, after party 5.30pm until lage. Tickets include a G&T on arrival, glass to keep, entry into the prize draw, distillers room and gin masterclass. Barbecue, live music and DJ and outdoor bars, £15 per ticket.
