AS if the three disciplines of the triathlon were not hard enough, Lostock AC’s Mary White and Nikki Hamerton headed to Chester for the annual Deva Divas Quadrathlon.

The event adds kayaking to swimming, cycling and running in a further test to the athletes.

Continuing the form that has seen her crowned age group world champion, White scored another age group victory in 2hrs 10mins 7secs for the 750m swim, 4k kayak, 25k bike and 5k run.

Hamerton also had a good day, knocking six minutes off her 2018 time to finish in 2:14:32.

Back in the single sport format, Adrian Hope finished in six place in the Maverick Inov8 X Series 16k race in the Peak District.

Starting and finishing in the village of Hope and taking in Win Hill, Lady Bower Resevoir and Lose Hill, Hope finished his first competitive race of 2019 in 1:43:09.

Lostock AC also enjoyed age group success at the Bull Hill fell race in Hawkshaw.

Albert Sunter was first Lostocker home in a time of 1:00:10 and second in age group, followed by Chris Taylor in 1:04:32, Mark Shuttleworth in 1:04:40 and Andy Ginty in 1:12:17.

Rachel Hancock was second in her age group in 1:17:29 and was chased all the way by Donna Kelsall who finished in 1:17:38.
