Fire alert at Chadderton shopping centre
FIREFIGHTERS were called to Chadderton shopping centre last night (Monday, August 5) after a stray firework ignited a canopy over a row of shops.
Crews from Oldham, Chadderton, and Hollins turned in Middleton Road out to the incident at about 10pm.
They used a hose reel to extinguish the blaze and cut away a section of the canopy.
