The store is managed by Peter Braid, who owned Keys Musical Instruments at Henshaw Street near Tommyfield Market.
As well as selling a full range of instruments totalling 18,000 in number, it also offers tuition in disciplines on the piano, guitar, violin, saxophone, brass, woodwind and drums.

DAWSONS boasts the best guitar shop in Manchester. Opening its doors in 2003, it is spread across two floors floors in a stunning glass-fronted building and offers an incredible range of equipment. The upper floor is a haven for all things guitar related, generally holding over 500 guitars.
It also sells pianos and keyboard and drums and the “pro-audio” department has an extensive range of hi-tech, recording and DJ equipment.
