AN INTREPID fundraiser took to the skies to raise thousands for patient care at Dr Kershaw's Hospice.

Glenn Warhurst, A member of St Anne’s Rugby Club, was gifted the experience by his wife, Gaynor.

And, swapping rugby for the runway, the intrepid 50-year-old saw the adventure as a fundraising opportunity.

Taking off on July 12, Glenn said he “loved every minute” of the thrilling experience and raised an astounding £2870 for the Royton-based hospice.

The event was held at AeroSuperBatics in Cirencester, where Glenn’s family and friends witnessed him perform an exhilarating series of flypasts, zoom climbs, steep dives and banks atop the wing of a Boeing Stearman biplane.
