A CELEBRATED band club has hit a new high note on its rising return to good fortune.
Because turnover at Dobcross Band and Social Club is up by 30 per cent for the same period last year.
And members who attended the club’s half yearly meeting heard profit levels are currently in line with last year’s, in spite of significant investment in infrastructure improvements.
And the club announced moves for additional facilities at their Platt Lane headquarters and plans to submit a £10,000 National Lottery bid later this year to support the refurbishment of the clubs main kitchen.
The club has been awarded the prestigious CAMRA Club of the Year award for the last two years and is in the running for inclusion in next years Good Beer Guide.
And members were told the club’s remarkable recovery is testament to the hard work and dedication of the staff and committee against thr spectre of closure just a few years ago.
Club president Terry Lawless declared: “Not too long ago things were looking very bleak for the club.
“But with the tremendous support of the local community we are now able to look forward to a future where this priceless village asset can be sustained for many years to come.”
