RAISING cash for Macmillan Cancer Support was just a piece of cake for 47-year-old Wes McArdle - all he had to do was have his head shaved.
Wes, a section manager at Park Cakes in Ashton Road, Oldham, opted to have his locks chopped off at the bakery on Friday (September 27).
David Lindley, of David John Hairdressing in Ashton Road, Oldham visited the firm to carry out the job as colleagues watched him brave the shave.
Wes said: “My mother died from cancer at the age of 40 and was unfortunate that the treatment then was not as advanced as it is now. Supporting this cause will help those sufferers.”
Wes has raised £1,288 and surpassed his £500 target by giving out sponsor forms, setting up a Just Giving page https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/wesley-mcardle and having a bucket in the canteen for staff to donate.
