Before the court

JOHN McAtamney, aged 52, of Poppy Close, Chadderton, published an obscene article, namely a Whatsapp video of beastiality, and made an indecent photograph, namely two category C images of a child and three category B images of a child between January 3 and 21, 2014. He has been committed to Minshull Street Manchester Crown Court for sentence on October 18.

STUART Wilcox, aged 37, of Arden Street, Chadderton, damaged a wing mirror and house window belonging to a woman in Limeside Road, Oldham on or about August 18. He also used threatening behaviour towasrds her. He was ordered to carry out 140 hours of unpaid work and was given a restraining order preventing him from contacting his victim directly or indirectly or entering Limeside Road or driving along it until September 23, 2020. He must also pay £250 costs and £85 to victim services.

JASON McDonald, aged 25, of Frances Street, Derker, failed to comply with supervision requirements following release from prison by failing to post his post sentence supervision in that on May 2 and 14 he failed to report for appointments. He was ordered to carry out 20 hours of unpaid work and pay costs of £60.

GREGORY William Mullender, aged 55, of no fixed address, entered Oldham town centre on September 22 when prohibited from doing so by a criminal behaviour order made by Tameside Magistrates’ Court on February 2. He was jailed for 16 weeks because is was his eighth breach of the order. He must also pay a £122 to victim services.

DANIEL Jones, aged 25, of Rosary Close, Fitton Hill, Oldham, took a Smart car without the owners consent and damaged the vehicle and two other vehicles between April 14 and 17, 2017.On April 17, 2017, he drove on Dowry Street, Oldham without due care and attention, failed to stop after an accident, and drove without a licence and with no insurance. He must now carry out 120 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months and pay compensation of £500, costs of £85 and £85 to victim services.

CASEY Taylor Mayall, aged 20, of Werneth Hall Road, Coppice, stole cosmetic items from Boos in Oldham, worth £84.94 on May 5. On July 24, he failed to surrender to custody at Tameside Magistrates’ Court having been released on bail. His offences were committed during the operational period of a suspended sentence order imposed by Tameside on March 12 for possession of Spice. He was committed to a young offender institution for four weeks and ordered to pay £85 costs and £115 to victim services.

JAMES Barfoot, aged 38, of Claymore, Flora Street, Oldham, failed to comply with supervision requirements imposed following release from prison by failing to attend appointments with his offender manager on July 30 and August 8. A warrant was issued for his arrest.

JOAN Collins, aged 65, of Dairy Street, Chadderton failed to comply with requirements of a community order made by Tameside Magistrates’ Court on July 4 by failing to attend Farida Women’s Centre on July 9and Oldham CRC on July 31. She must now undergo rehabilitation activity for up toa maximum of five days and pay £60 costs.

ROBERT Michael Novak, aged 33, of Eldon Street, Oldham, stole confectionary worth £35 from Sainsbury’s at Oldham on Mary 31 and stole more confectionary worth £50 from the same store on June 5. He was given an eight-week prison sentence suspended for 12 months and ordered to pay £85 compensation.

JAKE Casey, aged 21, of Haggate Road, Royton, failed to comply with a community order made by Tameside Magistrates’ Court on July 23 by failing to report to his responsible officer on August 12 and has failed to remain in contact with his responsible officer since July 30. He was ordered to undertaken rehabilitation activity up to a maximum of three days and to pay £60 costs.

Magistrates have granted a request from Greater Manchester Police for the continued detention of £1,315 from Muhammad Suliaman Miah, aged 27, of Main Road, Oldham, under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002.
