Couple taken to hospital after serious house fire in Failsworth
THE cause of a serious house fire in Failsworth which resulted in a man and a woman being taken to hospital is under investigation.
Drama unfolded in Stansfield Road at 10.45pm on Saturday night, when the woman dropped from a first-floor window to escape smoke and flames.
The man also escaped as crews from Chadderton, Hollins and Oldham raced to the scene.
It is understood neighbours and a teenager helped the couple get out of the blazing semi-detached house.
Stansfield Road and nearby Roman Road were closed while the blaze was being dealt with.
The couple were taken to hospital by ambulance.
