FIREFIGHTERS are appealing for householders not to put their bins out in the evening before refuse collection following three deliberate blazes were ignited in the Derker area.
They were called to Vulcan Street at 11pm last night (Monday, October 21) after two wheelie bins were set on fire.
Another one in was also torched in a nearby alleyway.
Firefighter Steven Rudol, based at Oldham station, said: "We are asking householders not to put bins out at night, particularly at this time of the year, in the run up towards Bonfire Night.
"It is safer if people can put their refuse out early in the morning on the day of waste collection."
