NOVEMBER 12: Christmas Flower Demonstration by Kath Williams at Hope Congregational Church, Skipton Street, Abbeyhills, starting at 2pm in aid of Guide Dogs for the Blind. Admission £2, including tea and biscuits.

NOVEMBER 16: Holy Trinity Church, Godson Street, Oldham, Coldhurst Christmas Fair, 11am to 2.30pm. Stalls, Santa’s Grotto, tombola and refreshments.

NOVEMBER16: Victorian Christmas Fair at St Paul’s Church, Ashton Road, Oldham, 11am to 2pm.

Gifts, home-bake and chocolate stalls, toys, tombolas and games. Santa. Gaelic coffee and other refreshments. Admission free.

NOVEMBER 16: Oldham Roundthorn Salvation Army, 203 Roundthorn Road, Oldham, Christmas Fair, 11am to 2pm. Start your Christmas shopping early, and make Christmas gifts, cards and jewellery, Christmas crafts, lights, candles, cakes and mulled apple stands, as well as a festive cafe. Special guests will be Oasis Leesbrook Academy Choir.

NOVEMBER 16: Bardsley Methodist Church, Keb Lane, Christmas fair, 2pm to 4pm. Tombola, fancy goods, cake stall and and good as new stall. Admission 50p, children free, in aid of church funds.

NOVEMBER 17: St Anne's Parish Hall, Broadway, Royton, Christmas Fair, 11.15am to 2.30pm. Stalls, games, cafe and Father Christmas. Admission 50p, children free.

NOVEMBER 20: Springhead Liberal Club, Lunch at the Libs, 12noon to 2pm. £3.75 for choice of hot food, cakes, tea or coffee. Raffle and stand up bingo in aid of Care for Kids and Oldham Branch of the MS Society.

NOVEMBER 20: Oldham Flower Club, Community Room, Daisy Nook Garden Centre, Stannybrook Road, Failsworth, 1pm, demonstration of floral art by Anthony Williams entitled "Christmas by Design". Admission £8, refreshments included.

NOVEMBER 23: St Anne's Church, St Anne's Avenue, Royton, an evening of brass and song with Boarshurst Silver Band and Kershaw's Krooners, 7.30pm. Adults £8, children £5 including seasonal refreshments. All proceeds to Dr Kershaw's Hospice and church.

NOVEMBER 26: Springhead Liberal Club, It's Not Rocket Science general knowledge quiz, 8.30pm. £3 per person including raffle and stand-up bingo in aid of Care for Kids and Oldham Branch of the MS Society.

NOVEMBER 30: St Thomas Church Hall, Northgate Lane, Moorside, Christmas Fair, 11am to 3pm in aid of church funds. Stalls include home bake, new and pre-loved toys, chocolate and bottle tombolas, sweets, Christmas gifts, cards, wrapping paper, gift tags and Church calendars, Christmas gifts, toiletries, books, hand-made cards, café serving hot and cold sandwiches, cakes and drinks, Gaelic coffee, games, raffle, visit Santa in his grotto plus much more. Admission, adults 50p, children 30p.

DECEMBER 7: Holy Cross Primary School, Ruth Street, Oldham, Winter Wonderland Fete, 11am to 2pm. Stalls, children’s activities, refreshments in aid of St Stephen & All Martyrs Parish Church.

DECEMBER 14: St Thomas Church Hall, Northgate Lane, Moorside, Christingle making Christmas crafts, 10.30am to 12.30pm. All welcome.

DECEMBER 15: St Thomas Church, Glebe Lane, Moorside, Christingle service where children carry Christingle orange made the previous day, 3.3pm. All welcome.

DECEMBER 22: St Thomas Church, Glebe Lane, Moorside, Eucharist Service featuring the Sunday School's nativity play, 10.30am. Also service of readings and carols by candlelight, 6.30pm. All welcome.

DECEMBER 24: St Thomas Church, Glebe Lane, Moorside, Midnight Eucharist Service to celebrate birth of Jesus. Starts 11.30pm. All welcome.
