A WEATHER warning for rain has been issued for Oldham from today through to Friday.
The Met Office's yellow warning runs from midnight on Monday to midnight on Friday.
The warning said, following recent wet weather and heavy overnight rain, frequent heavy showers will continue from Monday afternoon onwards.
A further 25 to 35 mm of rainfall could fall in places, particularly over higher ground with sleet or snow possibly affecting high level roads but only small accumulations are expected.
The warning said: "There is a good chance driving conditions will be affected by spray, standing water and/or hail, leading to longer journey times by car and bus.
"Delays to train services are possible. Some short term loss of power and other services is likely.
"Probably some damage to a few buildings and structures from lightning strikes.
"Some flooding of a few homes and businesses likely, leading to some damage to buildings or structures."
But that will mean temperatures will be dropping a small amount, so by the end of the week, it will be quite bitter, feeling like just 1°C at certain times.
There are no current weather warnings after Friday.
