AN eight-year-old girl from Great Sankey will be featured as part of the BBC's Children in Need coverage today, Friday.

Summer Worrall is being recognised for raising money for charity with her own community events since she was four.

This year she has raised around £700 for Children in Need with the likes of a Halloween disco at Eagle Sports Club and by selling hotdogs during The Pear Tree Inn's firework display in Burtonwood.

This week Summer has also held a raffle and made and sold her own cupcakes.

She and her mum Natasha will be travelling to Lady Lever Art Gallery in Wirral to meet the BBC team this afternoon.

Natasha said: "This evening, Summer is due to go on the TV for all the hard work she's done. We have a little star in Warrington.

"Also, get yourself down to the Chapelford this evening as a fundraising disco is being held to support Summer in raising more money.

"There is an event at the Trigger Pond tomorrow too with a singer and raffle. I am so proud of Summer as is her family, friends and school.

"Summer enjoys raising money for charities because she says it makes her feel good. Whenever we see any homeless people or if she sees an animal in need she's always wants to help."
