THE charity supporting the under-construction Bright Futures School for children with autism in Greenfield has raised thousands of pounds for equipment.

Friends of Bright Futures Schools (FBFS) has brought in £9,000 to fund touchscreen TV to give pupils a more interactive experience on top of £17,000 to fund the cost of a state of the art sensory room - a place where pupils can go when they feel overwhelmed and need some time out to enable them to re-engage in learning. This included £600 from the Elvis Tribute night that took at Boarshurst Band Club recently.

FBFS now has its sights set on raising money for or securing donations of the following white goods - a

freestanding electric hob with oven, a washing machine, two fridges, a freezer and a dishwasher.

The school is being built thanks to funding from the local cleaning products company Robert Scott Ltd.

Oldham-headquartered Medlock FRB has began working on Bright Futures School - next to the head office of Robert Scott - after breaking ground at the site in August.
