DECEMBER 6 to 15: Oldham Parish Church, Christmas Tree Festival, 60 decorated trees to browse and get inspired. Refreshments available throughout the festival. Opening launch Friday, December 6 at 7pm; Saturday, December 7, 9.30am to 4pm; Brass Monkeys also taking place in church, Sunday December 8, 12noon to 4pm; Monday, December 9, 10am to 4pm; Friday December 13, 10am to 12noon, Friday, December 13, Oldham Lees Band in Concert at 7.30pm, tickets 5pm; Saturday, December 14, 9.30am to 4pm; Sunday, December 15, 12noon to 3pm. Festival ends with service of nine lessons and carols at 4pm.

DECEMBER 7: Delph Methodist Church, Gartside Street, Christmas Fair, 10am to 11.45am. Cakes confectionery, toys, books gifts etc. £1 including coffee.

DECEMBER 7: Holy Cross Primary School, Ruth Street, Oldham, Winter Wonderland Fete, 11am to 2pm. Stalls, children’s activities, refreshments in aid of St Stephen & All Martyrs Parish Church.

DECEMBER 7: Hope Congregational Curch, Skipton Street, Abbeyhills, The Hope Singers' Christmas Concert, starting a 7.30pm. £5 on the door including refreshments.

DECEMBER 7: Boarshurst Band Club, Greenbridge Lane (off Chew Valley Road), Greenfield, Christmas concert by the Oldham branch of the English National Jazz Orchestra, 8pm. Fronting the 20-strong band will be three vocalists and the programme will include swing versions of Christmas classics and more traditional big band standards. Entry £5, £1 for 16s and under. In aid of band bunds.

DECEMBER 10: Friezland Church Hall, Greenfield, Oldham. Saddleworth Floral Art Society is holding a demonstration by Debbie Davies of Formby entitled "Deck The Halls". All welcome. visitors £6, including refreshments.

DECEMBER 14: St Thomas Church Hall, Northgate Lane, Moorside, Christingle making Christmas crafts, 10.30am to 12.30pm. All welcome.

DECEMBER 15: St Thomas Church, Glebe Lane, Moorside, Christingle service where children carry Christingle orange made the previous day, 3.3pm. All welcome.

DECEMBER 17: Delph Methodist Church, Gartside Street, Carol Concert with Andrea Stewart, 7pm. £4.50 including refreshments.

DECEMBER 17: Springhead Liberal Club, It's Not Rocket Science Christmas Quiz, 8.30pm. £3 per person, including raffle, stand up bingo in aid of Dr Kershaw's Hospice and Oldham branch of the MS Society.

DECEMBER 22: St Thomas Church, Glebe Lane, Moorside, Eucharist Service featuring the Sunday School's nativity play, 10.30am. Also service of readings and carols by candlelight, 6.30pm. All welcome.

DECEMBER 22: Delph Methodist Church, Gartside Street, no morning service. Carols by Candlelight led by Rev G Ridley, 6pm, followed by coffee and mince pies.

DECEMBER 24: St Thomas Church, Glebe Lane, Moorside, Midnight Eucharist Service to celebrate birth of Jesus. Starts 11.30pm. All welcome.

DECEMBER 25: St Thomas Church, Glebe Lane, Moorside, Family Eucharist Service to celebrate birth of Jesus, 10.30am. All welcome.
