Ahead of the General Election next week, we've asked the candidates for each constituency five identical questions.

They were all given the same amount of time to come back to us with their answers, and while most did respond, some didn't.

The final question - What are your top three policies other than Brexit? - was put forward by one of our lovely readers.

Below you can read what the candidates for New Forest West had to say.

Where do you stand on Brexit – Leave or Remain? And why?

Leave, because we voted to in a referendum.

Your policy on climate change?

To continue cutting emissions to net zero by 2050.

How will you be helping the NHS if you are elected?

With the biggest funding increase in a generation.

What is your policy on housing?

In the last year we built more houses than in any of the last 30, we need to continue that with 250,000 per year.

What are your top three policies other than Brexit?

Improving the environment and cutting emissions, more funding for schools, 20,000 more police officers.

Bournemouth Echo:

  • GREEN PARTY - Nicholas Bubb

Where do you stand on Brexit – Leave or Remain? And why?

I voted to remain but I do understand that 17.4 million people didn't and I respect that. There is still such a huge range of views on what leaving should look like that I think the only truly democratic thing to do would be to have a new vote based on what we know now.

Your policy on climate change?

No one should be in any doubt that the climate emergency is the greatest issue of our time. In my previous life I worked in finance so I understand that people are concerned about the economy and they worry that the Green Party's spending plans on this are too ambitious. The reality though, is if we don't deal with this now, it will be way more costly in the long run.

How will you be helping the NHS if you are elected?

Privatisation of the NHS has already started and I will campaign for the NHS Reinstatement Bill, to stop this. I also passionately believe that people across the country deserve better access to GPs along with free prescriptions for all, reduced A & E waiting times and improved maternity care and end of life care.#

What is your policy on housing?

My priorities here are to ensure everyone is provided with housing that is affordable, comfortable and places minimal impact on the environment. Building on the Green Belt will not solve the housing crisis and we need to stop destroying the countryside to build homes that most families can’t afford to live in anyway.

What are your top three policies other than Brexit?

A Green New Deal which includes revolutionising public transport, building affordable energy efficient homes, a huge boost in NHS funding and removing fossil fuels from the economy.

Bournemouth Echo:

  • LABOUR - Jo Graham

Where do you stand on Brexit – Leave or Remain? And why?

Personally, I would vote remain because I believe Britain is stronger internationally as part of Europe. The customs-union based deal that Labour will negotiate or the option to remain, settled by a Final Say vote, will both mean we can get Brexit sorted without the need for endlessly negotiating new trade deals.

Your policy on climate change

Labour is committed to reaching 'net zero carbon' decades ahead of the 2050 target set by the Tories. For me, the science is clear - fighting the climate emergency should be our highest priority.

How will you be helping the NHS if you are elected?

We will fund the NHS properly, end creeping privatisation and tackle the issues that are causing the crisis. We will ensure NHS staff from other countries can work here, reinstate nursing bursaries to train UK nurses and create a joined up health and social care system to free up beds.

What is your policy on housing?

The New Forest has over 3,000 people on its housing waiting list. Labour will build over a million zero-carbon council and social homes nationally within 10 years and deal with the injustices of the private renting sector.

What are your top three policies other than Brexit?

Combating climate change, funding education properly; from nurseries and schools, to universities, to lifelong learning, tackling poverty and inequality in all their forms.

Bournemouth Echo: "Tooth and nail" fight: Lynne Featherstone MP is leading a campaign to ensure North London Central NHS do not close the Whittington Hospital's A&E department

  • LIB DEM - Jack Davies

Where do you stand on Brexit – Leave or Remain? And why?

Leaving the European Union without a deal in a year’s time will lead to a decade of chaos as the government gets bogged down in negotiating complex free trade agreements to replace our current agreements. We should remain and focus on tackling the climate emergency and investing in our NHS instead.

Your policy on climate change?

A Lib Dem government will tackle the climate emergency by generating 80 per cent of our electricity from renewables by 2030 and insulating all low-income homes by 2025. We'll make Britain Carbon neutral by 2045 at the latest.

How will you be helping the NHS if you are elected?

We will put a penny in the pound on income tax to raise an extra £35 billion over the course of the next parliament to relieve the crisis in social care, tackle urgent workforce shortages, and to invest in mental health and prevention services.

What is your policy on housing?

We'll build 300,000 new homes a year with 100,000 of those being homes for social rent. We will also introduce a “Help to Rent” scheme for people under 30.

What are your top three policies other than Brexit?

Tackle the Climate Emergency, putting a penny in the pound on income tax so we can protect our NHS, and building 100,000 homes for social rent each year so young people and working families can afford a place to live.
