A MAN has died after being hit by a tram close to Shaw and Crompton Metrolink station just before 6am today.
Bosses are saying on Twitter services are expected to be affected for "quite a while". Services between Oldham Mumps and Victoria are currently running.
Services on the Rochdale line are operating from Oldham Mumps to East Didsbury in either direction Ticket acceptance is in place on Northern Rail services, and on buses which ar:e 58, 59, 81, 83, 181, 182, 184, 471.
Nearby roads are understood to be closed.
TfGM’s head of Metrolink Danny Vaughan said the incident happened between the Derker and Shaw and Crompton tram stops. He said: “Emergency services were quickly in attendance but sadly could not save him."
