MANCHESTER's hottest new restaurant, Döner Haus, in popular foodie hotspot, Corn Exchange Manchester, has confirmed it will open its door on February 10.

The new 160-cover restaurant will offer a refreshing new dining concept, the first of its kind in the city, and promises relaxed, hip surroundings which have been inspired by the modern Bauhaus design movement.

With bold flavour combinations inspired by the thriving food scene in Berlin, the menu will appeal to meat-eaters and vegetarians alike with veggie, vegan, gluten free and halal options available.

Dishes include street food favourites, doner kebabs, chicken schwarma, currywurst, and traditional schnitzel, with the addition of new dishes exclusive to the Manchester restaurant, including the first vegetarian platter, Mezze platter and Bavarian meat board, which can also be enjoyed in the bar area as a light-bite.

Kebabs are served on traditional fladenbrot, a tasty sourdough bread with sesame seeds, baked with care at the company’s sister bakehouse in Glasgow and delivered fresh throughout the week. The tasty Doner meat which is the base of many of the dishes, is made with lean cuts of veal and turkey mixed with a blend of spices to create a truly unique flavour.

The stylish bar area on the first floor has space for an additional 70 guests and will serve a selection of wine, Prosecco, Champagne and German beers, with the addition of delicious Haus cocktails, including the Bauhaus 1919 and Wunderbar.

This will be the second site for Döner Haus, which currently has a popular five-star review restaurant in Glasgow.

Liam Mooney, General Manager of Corn Exchange Manchester, commented: “We’re delighted to welcome Döner Haus to the venue. Its unique menu will offer our customers a tasty new dining experience at Corn Exchange.

“With a modern dining proposition and menu, large portions and value for money, this restaurant is the kind of destination that people will want to visit regularly.”

Kiren Benning, marketing coordinator of Döner Haus, said: “We love seeing the expression on our customers’ faces when they take their first bite and instantly recognise that it isn’t your typical high street kebab in a fancy setting."

“Manchester is an impressive city with a booming foodie scene and with a market similar to Glasgow, so we’re hoping for a great reaction in the North to our food, drink, value and vibe.”

Corn Exchange is one of Manchester’s premier dining and leisure destinations, with 13 quality restaurants, an Escape Hunt and a luxury aparthotel, Roomzzz.
