BOLTON road marathon is returning after 32 years and organisers are putting a call out for volunteers.

A variety of volunteers are needed for the big day on May 17.

The roles include route ambassadors, spectator area ambassadors, registration desk helpers, clear up volunteers, pacers, bag drop and collection helpers, athlete village ambassadors and finish area volunteers.

Those who volunteer or enter the marathon from affiliated running clubs will earn reward points for their club. The top three running clubs with the most points will receive a cash prize after the marathon.

Bolton Marathon organisers are also looking for any runners who completed the original race during the 1980s. These runners can become part of the Legends team on the day, providing support to this year's entrants.

The roles up for grabs can be found on boltonmarathon.com/volunteer.
