SEVERAL Oldham people have paid the heavy price for dumping refuse in the alleyways behind their homes.
They appeared at Tameside Magistrates' Court on Thursday (February 6).
The offences are in contravention of the Environmental Protection Act 1990.
Simona Danielova, 32, of Villa Road, Oldham, dumped a fridge freezer and kitchen workshop and was fined £660 and ordered to pay £275 costs and £66 to victim services.
Shannan Louise Harwood, 23, of Bredbury Street, Chadderton, left black bin bags containing waste in the alleyway at the rear of her house on June 6. she was fined £65 and ordered to pay £100 and £30 to victim services.
Danala Lupu, 29, of Honeywell Lane, Oldham, dumped a sofa in the alleyway behind her house on June 11. She was fined £660 and ordered to pay £262.50 costs and £66 to victim services.
Rahela Nica, of Clydesdale Street, Oldham, deposited plastic bags containing waste in the alleyway at the rear of her home on June 18. She was fined £220 and ordered to pay £381 costs and £30 to victim services.
Jennifer O'Brien, 56, of Wesley Street, Failsworth, dumped two bags of waste in the alleyway at the rear of her house on July 5. She was fined £220 and ordered to pay £275 costs and £32 to victim services.
