SADDLEWORTH has so far escaped the worst of the widely predicted snowfall in the north of England, but more appears to be on the way.
Oldham's head of highways Craig Dale said: "Fortunately, we have been spared the worst of any overnight snowfall.
"We are in a colder airstream now and so snow showers will be on and off all day with some possible accumulations down to 100 metres.
“Snow is now falling over the Pennine routes and we are currently continuing to treat as necessary.”
