Courageous locals are being invited to two organised walks on the UK's tallest rollercoaster.

The Children Today charity ran the walk on The Big One in Blackpool last year, and had such a positive response that they've organised two dates, April 24 and September 25 this year.

Regional fundraiser for the Bolton-based charity Elizabeth Oakes said: “We were inundated with people keen to try this unusual walk and we added extra dates to accommodate everyone.

“It really was an amazing experience, very well-run by the venue with safety in mind all the way through. All the people who took part thought it was fantastic and really enjoyed the experience.”

The Big One towers over the Northern skyline and the walk, fully harnessed and led by experts along the lift hill, offers fabulous views over the resort and the region.

The cost involves a registration fee of £30 plus suggested sponsorship of £250. All the money goes to the charity which buys individual items of specialised equipment for children and young people with disabilities.
