YEAR 11 Bolton School pupil Victoria Wong is one of 15 young people nationally chosen as the chosen as the first members of a new Student Advisory Group launched by the examination board AQA.

Following a rigorous selection progress she was invited to join the group, which is mostly made up of Sixth Form students.

The group will meet three to four times a year and provide AQA with students’ insights and perspectives on key areas of assessment, such as the use of technology and the design of question papers.

Victoria attended the launch of the Student Advisory Group at a Parliamentary Reception with the theme ‘Celebrating student voice in the exam system’ and met MPs, Peets and students.

Victoria said: “The evening was spent in the House of Commons familiarising ourselves with the other members of the Student Advisory Group as well as AQA staff and various people who worked in education. I had a wonderful time conversing with both AQA executives, directors of education and especially the CEO himself. The meaningful discussions we had were enriching, impactful and showed their desire for youth involvement.

"I feel fortunate that I have the opportunity to share my insight and of those around me.”
