FANS of authentic French movies are being urged to snap up the few remaining tickets for a niche film to be shown at Oldham Library soon.
The Little French Cinema' season kicks off with the showing of La Vie en rose (Cert 12A) on Thursday, March 12.
It is a movie about the great French singer-songwriter and cabaret performer Edith Piaf.
From the slums of Paris to the limelight of New York, Piaf's life was a battle to sing and survive.
Raised in poverty, her unique voice and her passionate romances and friendships with the greatest names of period - Yves Montand, Jean Cocteau, Charles Aznavour, Marlene Dietrich, Marcel Cerdan and others - made her a The film will be shown in French with English subtitles. There will be a cheese and wine reception at 6.15pm on the night.
